On Computer and Internet Use

The library provides free access to the internet as part of its mission to provide the users with electronic resources necessary to meet the patron’s primary, informational, and educational needs.

The given guidelines and policies regulating its use is established in order to minimize disruptive or unsafe behavior and in order to increase access for research and other school related activities.

1. The computer corner is open from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday

2. Computer corner is for Grades 4-7, teachers' and other employees' use only

3. Users should write their name in the log in-folder before using the Internet.

4. Students may access the Internet during recess, lunch break and dismissal time. Teachers and other CSA employees may access the Internet on periods not covered by students break time.

5. The Internet should be used for school related research and work only

6. Users should report immediately to the librarian about any problems they encounter with the use of computers or printer.

7. Each computer should only have one user at a time. As consideration to other library users, conversations are to be kept quiet.

8. Files may be downloaded to a USB flash drive. The library is not responsible for damage to any user’s flash drive, or any damage to user data sustained while using the equipment.

9. Library staff may assist patrons in using the internet; however, staff can not guarantee expertise in every site, program or problem encountered online.

10. Printing fee
Php 5.00 per page (text only)
Php 10.00 per page (with picture)

Patrons may use their own paper however due to the cost of ink and printer maintenance, there is still a charge of 2.50 per page even when the library paper is not used.

11. The following are STRICTLY PROHIBITED in the use of computer with Internet access:

a. Downloading with pornographic materials, hate campaigns, violent videos, and other offensive materials
b. Changing the configuration and set up of the computer
c. Playing computer games of any sort
d. Eating or drinking
e. Installing computer programs in computer units
f. Removing or changing the properties of computer programs in the computer unit
g. Removing any computer hardware
h. Knowingly infecting the computer with a virus

12. Users violating these guidelines will be given disciplinary sanctions or may result in the loss of computer privileges in order to have an orderly system for computer and internet use in the library.
